  • CriticalDance
    CriticalDance is an international non-profit organization established to support and promote the dance arts and its community, including dance arts professionals, organizations, companies, presenters, writers and audiences.
  • Dance Heritage Coalition
    An alliance of major dance collections, formed to document and preserve America's dance. The DHC focuses on four areas: ACCESS to materials; the continuing DOCUMENTATION of dance employing both traditional methods and developing technologies; PRESERVATION of existing documentation; and EDUCATION regarding methods, standards, and practice for access, documentation, and preservation.
  • Movement Research
    movement research is an artist-centered dance service organization whose activities support the emerging aesthetics of the art form today. Founded in 1978, Movement Research provides: creative residencies for emerging and established choreographers; performance opportunities that foreground investigation and process; and free and low-cost activities in the areas of education - biannual Performance Journal, classes, workshops, public forums, and artist-in-schools programs.

  • National Dance Education Organization
    The National Dance Education Organization (NDEO) is an autonomous non-profit organization dedicated to promoting standards of excellence in dance education by providing the dance artist and the dance educator a network of resources and support, a base for advocacy, and access to programs and projects that focus on the importance of dance in the human experience.
  • National Endowment for the Arts
    The National Endowment for the Arts is a public agency dedicated to supporting excellence in the arts, both new and established; bringing the arts to all Americans; and providing leadership in arts education. Established by Congress in 1965 as an independent agency of the federal government, the Endowment is the nation's largest annual funder of the arts.
  • New York Public Library for the Performing Arts
    Libraries are the memory of humankind, irreplaceable repositories of documents of human thought and action. The New York Public Library is such a memory bank par excellence, one of the great knowledge institutions of the world, its myriad collections ranking with those of the British Library, the Library of Congress, and the Bibliothèque nationale de France. Virtually all of the Library's many collections and services are freely available to all comers. In fact, the Library has but one criterion for admission: curiosity.

The North Carolina Arts Council celebrates those who create and enjoy art in all 100 counties of the state.
  • The Estate Project
    With funding from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Estate Project of the Alliance for the Arts has identified choreographers with AIDS, living and deceased, in the dance centers of New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco. The catalogue also identifies dance works created in response to the AIDS crisis, documents work created by choreographers with AIDS and makes recommendations for preservation. Biographical and contact information for these choreographers is included.
