Anima Dance, a five-year-old modern dance company based in Durham, North Carolina, performs at venues across the state. Rachel Brooker founded Anima Dance in 1999 to produce her choreography and the work of other local artists.

EEDT is committed to both the collaborative process and the exchange of information and ideas with other artists, audiences, and communities.

Footnotes Tap Ensemble is a not for profit (501C3) professional adult tap company. Founded by Mimi Benjamin and Robin Vail, the company performs at community concerts, dance workshops and annual ensemble concerts.

Independent Dancemakers continue to offer an important venue for quality modern dance works that stir dialogue, push boundaries, and communicate the value of dance in our culture. Independent Dancemakers is dedicated to giving talented choreographers and dance artists who do not have a venue an opportunity to show their work. By supporting each other’s creative work, Independent Dancemakers has offered Triangle audiences a rich and exciting tapestry of aesthetic styles from classical to contemporary. They strive to stir dialogue, to push boundaries, and to communicate the value of dance in our culture.
NickWalk Dance Project
The NickWalk Dance Project (NWDP) offers high-quality modern dance performances, modern dance classes and choreography workshops to people of various ages and technical abilities. Joan Nicholas-Walker, Artistic Director, consistently makes bold musical choices to accompany her modern dances. Her repertory includes dances choreographed to music from the African, Latin and Hip Hop genres.
