Kathy Berberian grew up in Laurel, Maryland. She performed with Montgomery Ballet Company for five years and graduated from Laurel High School. Kathy received her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Dance from Florida State University. While attending FSU, Kathy was a member of the Dance Repertory Theatre, which performed at the Kennedy Center for the National American College Dance Festival. She moved to New York after graduating and performed with Omega Dance Company. Kathy received her Master of Art Degree in Dance Education from New York University. At NYU, she danced with the Washington Square Repertory Theatre. She lives with her husband and son in Durham. Kathy taught dance at Riverside High School for five years and currently teaches dance full time at WG Pearson Talented and Gifted Magnet Elementary School.

Caroline Johnson grew up in New England, playing sports and barely knowing the world of dance existed. Upon graduating high school, she went to California and attended Scripps College in Claremont. At Scripps she was a Division III Women's Lacrosse Team captain and League All Star two years in a row and decided to take a dance class during her junior year on a whim. She promptly fell in love with dance, most specifically Hip Hop, West African dance and contemporary, disregarding the people who told her that starting dance at age 20 would be too difficult. At Scripps she performed in works by Suchi Branfman, Laurie Cameron, Courtney Crocker and many other faculty and student choreographers. Since graduating in 2004, she has continued to dance, as well as work in secondary school admissions at private schools and to teach dance and coach field hockey and lacrosse. She is currently the Program Manager and Coach at the non-profit Girls on the Run of the Triangle in Durham.

Valerie Gerry Mayer received her B.A. in psychology from Dartmouth College. As a member of the Dartmouth Dance Ensemble, she had the opportunity to work with visiting artists such as Terry Creach, Karinne Keithley, and Heidi Henderson. After graduating, she traveled to Costa Rica to study dance at the Universidad Nacional in Heredia. Last December she received her M.F.A. in choreography and performance from the University of Colorado at Boulder, where she toured with the CU Graduate Touring Company and taught beginning modern dance to undergraduates.

Anna Smith Milling graduated from Meredith College in 2004 with a BA in Dance. She has performed works by Lois Welk, Marianne Adams, Valerie Midgett, Carol Finley, Jess Shell, Julee Snyder, Joan Nicholas-Walker, and Katherine Ferrier. For the past 4 years Anna has taught dance to all ages as a dance educator for the public schools, an instructor at private studios, and a teaching artist working in collaboration with non-dance teachers. Her post college choreography has been performed at Meredith College, American Dance Festival's Acts To Follow, and Choreo Collective's Current Collection. Anna is also a visual artist working in acrylics and mixed media.

Michelle Odgers, Treasurer, graduated from East Carolina University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a focus in jazz dance. In 2007, Michelle achieved a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. She has performed works by Nancy Simpson Carter, Lily Culp, Tomi Galaska, Alyssa Ghirardelli, Bridget Kelly and Susan Saenger, K. Rain Leander and Jennie Sussman, Elena Daymude Langlois, Jess Shell and Patty Weeks. Michelle is trained as a Fieldwork facilitator. This is her seventh season with Choreo Collective.

Joseph Saponaro began dancing through the recommendation of his gymnastics coach, while a student at Rutgers University. Shortly thereafter he decided to make a career in dance, studying with Thomas Cannon and Edward Caton in Philadelphia, and at the Pennsylvania Ballet School. As a professional dancer, he studied in New York City with Maggie Black, Larry Rhodes and Luigi. Mr. Saponaro was a member of the Princeton Ballet from 1978 until 1983, dancing leading roles in most of the company's repertoire. The Newark Star Ledger said, "he is irrepressibly airborne. . .his all-out attack makes him an exciting performer to watch." In 1980, he danced the "Snow" pas de deux in Princeton Ballet's Nutcracker, which was broadcast on Christmas Day, on the NBC Today Show. Since 1984 Mr. Saponaro has performed as guest artist throughout the eastern United States, dancing the lead male roles of many classical pas de deux from ballets such as The Nutcracker, Don Quixote and Le Corsaire. He was co-director of Dance Theatre South in Pelham, Georgia from 2003 until 2007 and currently teaches ballet in the Triangle.

Christina Serafino is a Connecticut native who grew up dancing and competing with Dance Arts Centre in Bristol, CT, under the instruction of Mark Simpson. During this time, she studied a variety of dance styles including ballet, tap, jazz, modern, lyrical, pointe and acrobatics. Christina went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts in dance from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in May 2004, while also earning a minor in business. During the summer of 2002, she attended the Pro Danza Italia workshop in Castiglioncello, Italy, where she studied and performed with renowned modern, jazz, African and tap choreographers from the United States, Canada and Italy. Christina also performed in the premiere of David Dorfman’s “Underground” at the American Dance festival in 2006. To expand upon her training and explore a lifelong desire, she attended an aerial dance workshop at East Tennessee State University in July 2009 during which she explored single point trapeze and aerial silks. Since the workshop, Christina has vowed to continue exploring aerial dance forms. She has also performed in works by Gerri Houlihan, Courtney Greer, Nancy Simpson Carter, Jess Shell, Suzanne Cantwell Birkin, Bridget Kelly, Blanche Case, Anna Smith Milling, Michelle Odgers, and Valerie Gerry Mayer. Christina is also a member of Code f.a.d. Company, a group of artists committed to combining film, visual art, and dance into precisely designed performance experiences led by Artistic Director Autumn Mist Belk. Christina has been a member of Choreo since 2006.

Jess Shell has been dancing her whole life. She graduated with a BA (concentration in Dance) from Sarah Lawrence College in 2001. She choreographed and performed while living in NYC, dancing with Megan Boyd, Kristina Dillard and Katherine Ferrier, among others. She returned to NC and graduated from massage school in 2004. She has danced locally for Anna Smith Milling, Nick-Walk Dance Project, Nancy Simpson Carter, Laura Thomasson, Katherine Berberian, Julee Snyder, and recently for Mark Dendy in his site-specific work at DPAC. Her choreography has been shown in both NY, and NC in Choreo's "Current Collections," and at ADF's "Acts to Follow." She has been a member of Choreo Collective since 2005.

Katherine Kiefer Stark grew up outside of Philadelphia. After graduating from Connecticut College in 2002, Katherine moved to New York City where she danced with Luis Lara Malvacias, Meghan McCoy, and Deganit Shemy. Katherine arrived in North Carolina in December 2005. She is currently dancing with Immediate Theatre, collaborating with choreographer Courtney Greer, and earning her MFA in choreography at UNCG. Katherine has presented her own work in Connecticut, Philadelphia, New York, and North Carolina.
