Interested in joining Choreo Collective?
We would love to have you -- all you have to do is come! Anyone is welcome to join us for our weekly sessions at any time on a drop-in basis, no matter how frequently or sporadically.

To find out more, just contact us.

Interested in performing or choreographing?
Choreo Collective also offers a number of opportunities to perform and to create and show work throughout the year.

These include our annual Current Collection, a fully produced presentation of the work of our members; our annual showcase in which we invite guest artists from throughout the Triangle to join us in a performance; and a variety of other more informal events that vary from season to season.

Rehearsals for performances usually occur outside of lab time and are set up by individual choreographers. Lab sessions are occasionally used for rehearsal when there is an upcoming performance requiring group coordination or feedback.

How does Choreo Collective make all of this happen?
Choreo Collective is a self-run, all-volunteer organization. Those dancers and choreographers who wish to get more involved by participating in performances and showing work are also expected to share in the work of administration and production that is needed to maintain the organization's mission and to produce and promote our events.

In this way, Choreo Collective provides an opportunity not only for choreography and performance, but also for gaining experience in production and arts management.

These activities are divided up among our members as needed, and members can take on tasks as their time and schedule permits. To facilitate this, Choreo Collective holds an administrative meeting each week after the session from 9:00pm to 9:30pm. We use the time for planning, decision-making, and dividing up the tasks needed for our ongoing and upcoming activities.

Please note: Attendance at the meetings and involvement in administrative activities is not required to participate in the lab sessions. If you just want take part in our weekly lab sessions, all you have to do is come!

If you would like more detailed information about how we work, please feel free to contact us.
