Formed in 1997, Choreo Collective is a collective of Triangle area modern dancers and choreographers committed to exploring the creative process and increasing the presence of the performing arts in the community.

At the heart of Choreo Collective's mission are twice-monthly sessions, which are a forum for participants to experiment with movement ideas, explore the process of making dance, and develop ways to involve and communicate with the audience.

The members of Choreo Collective also work together to stage performances throughout the Triangle area featuring work by individual members and guest artists, collaborative choreography, and structured improvisations.

Choreo Collective brings local dancers and choreographers together in an open, supportive community to engage in the creative process and produce new work to share with the public.


Choreo Collective Strives to:

-- provide an environment for emerging choreographers to develop and produce their work

-- give dancers the opportunity to participate actively in the creative process and to learn and perform new work

-- provide opportunities and venues for other local performing artists to perform their work, collaborate with Choreo Collective, and connect with each other

-- enrich the Triangle community by presenting dance works that are innovative and accessible

-- serve Triangle community members of all ages by encouraging them to explore dance
